What supplies are provided at Tropical Breeze?

You are provided with a "starter pack" of supplies, including absolute necessities like bath soap, toilet and facial tissue, paper towels, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, and garbage bags. We want you to begin enjoying your tropical island getaway without worrying about rushing to the store -- you'd likely rather rush down to the beach instead!

Is there a grocery store nearby?

The Island Store on Captiva Island is a short walk away; it carries almost everything you need, from fresh produce to sunscreen to cocktails.

There are also two full supermarkets a short drive away on Sanibel, which supply everything you may require; Lee and Bonnie can organize for Tropical Breeze to be stocked with your grocery requirements so you can get straight into vacation mode!

Are there many restaurants on the islands?

Don't worry; there are plenty of restaurants here! Captiva and Sanibel boast over 40 restaurants, offering every cuisine the island traveler could imagine. Many of our restaurants offer a casual dining atmosphere and the kinds of views that you won't find anywhere else. Are beach towels included?

Yes. They are included.

Are bicycle rentals available on the island?

With over twenty-two miles of well-maintained bike paths on the island, Captiva and Sanibel are perfect for the biking enthusiast. There are several bike rental companies from which to choose. In addition to bicycles, some offer roller blades, mopeds, and other accessories -- as well as pick up and delivery.

What kinds of recreational activities and entertainment does the island offer?

There are so many to choose from. Your biggest problem will be deciding which to do first! You'll be able to enjoy fresh and saltwater fishing, canoeing, kayaking, boating, bicycling, rollerblading, windsurfing, fitness facilities, tennis, golf, swimming, snorkeling, and world-famous shelling.

Or, visit Sanibel's famous Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge, historical village, the Bailey Matthews Shell Museum, the Historic Sanibel Lighthouse, specialty shops, restaurants, or the Sanibel Day Spa. Then, of course, there's the option of enjoying spectacular sunsets, beach walks, dancing, evenings at the theatre, video rentals, and much more! Bikes, jet-ski, and parasailing can all be booked from YOLO in Andy Rosse Lane.

What if I have special requests?

Cribs, rollaway beds, and other child care or guest convenience items are offered at an additional charge and should be arranged before arrival. Before your arrival, gifts, guest baskets, grocery services, etc., can also be arranged. If you require it, maid service can be arranged as well.

Can I bring my pet?

Sorry, no pets are allowed

Is there a more local airport to Captiva?

Southwest Florida International Airport is 50 minutes away from Fort Myers. For schedules, look at their website http://www.swfia.com.

Can you organize transport from the airports to Captiva?

Several limousine companies will collect and deliver you to and from the airports; call or email us, and we will provide details or book them for you.

Do you need a car?

Once at the house, a car is optional as restaurants, small shops, boating, and fishing are all within easy walking distance.

Are there laundry facilities?

The house has a laundry room on the first and ground floors, fully equipped with washing machines and tumble dryers. There is also a line for hanging washing in the garage.

Is Captiva safe for children?

Captiva was made for children; the beach is long and wide, and the sea is smooth and warm. The traffic is sparse and moves slowly. All the restaurants welcome children - creating a really safe family environment.

Does the house have air conditioning in every room?

Yes.

Does the house have Smart TV's

The main lounge and all bedrooms have smart flat-screen TVs.
